I did all my field research for my Master’s and a bit for my Ph.D. in the central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan. It’s a beautiful country in the Tian Shan mountains full of friendly people and amazing landscapes. I probably spent the better part of a year working there over the course of seven field seasons. Their passport visas look really cool too. Here’s a small collection of the thousands of photographs I have of that country.
Please go to the geology gallery for images of Kyrgyzstan’s amazing geology.
